Demerara Bank Limited

Incorporated in 1992 and declared open on November 12, 1994, Demerara Bank Limited is Guyana’s first indigenous commercial bank. DBL currently has seven branches located across the country, including a Corporate Office to cater to the Bank’s corporate customers, and nine ATM locations.

The idea of a private sector bank was conceived by Dr. Yesu Persaud, a Guyanese industrialist who envisioned the establishment of a bank in Guyana that fosters innovation, and provides export trade finance, all while offering high-quality and competitive services.
